New book of changes

The 2020 global pandemic is pushing us to adapt to a new experience of decentralized working processes, which prompted some of us to reexamine the infrastructure of remote working and hyper-shareability of online working to explore new means and meanings of these working modes from a new perspective. New tools for old things, old tools as new means, and new tools with new things. All of them are getting reviewed. For some people, this uncertainty may have contributed to a certain level of self-realization. The future is a powerful driving force for change. Can we turn the investigation of it into a learning opportunity? Can we use our ability to adapt and accepting new paradigms to explore new paths and stimulate new understanding? Most importantly, can this provide a new blueprint for the future narrative, making it our shared responsibility, not just a centralized technology?

New Book of Changes is a speculative collaboratively project of projections about the future which constructs multiple possibilities for social evolvement by showing individuals’ imagination about future society. The 1.0 version of this project starts from Chengdu by cooperating with citizens through workshops. Together, they have explored a series of technical topics with future potential and projected what the future may hold.
